Eastern Creek is located 35 kilometers west of the Sydney central business district; it is in the local government area of the City of Blacktown and is part of the greater Western Sydney region. The origin of the suburbs name lies in the fact that it is the eastern branch of South Creek and became known as Eastern Creek. The village that grew where the road crossed the creek became known as Eastern Creek. The area is west of the Prospect Reservoir and has become famous for the Eastern Creek Raceway and was also the former home to the amusement park Australia’s Wonderland.
The area is full of many industrial developments and the area on a whole the Eastern Creek area is often used to describe other industrial developments in neighbouring suburbs such as Huntingwood or Arndell Park. The V8 supercar races are hosted every year at the Eastern Creek Raceway.
