Named by James Chandler, Bexley, a heavily timbered suburb was used by the timber gutters, still running through the centre today called as Forest Road. It is comes under the St George area thereby falling under the areas of City of Rockdale. This southern Sydney suburb is positioned 14 kilometres to the south of Sydney CBD.
The land was acquired by Chandler only, but ended up in selling the land in 1836. Later, the land was subdivided for housing in 1856.
