In the early 19th century, the Sydney suburb came to be known as Vinegar Hill by the Irish migrants. It was names so because of an engagement during the 1798 uprising in south east Ireland by the united Irishmen. It was the Battle of Vinegar Hill.
Bellevue Hill was named so by the Governor Lachlan Macquarie while Bellevue meant beautiful view. It gold sold out at 22 Million Dollars in 2008 which is now known to be the wealthiest of the suburbs. Situated within the government boundaries of the Municipality of Woollahra, this suburb is 5 kilometres east to the CBD Sydney.
