Partly attached to the Municipality of Strathfield and located within the government parts of Canterbury City; Berfield is a mix match of residential, commercial and industrial setups. The suburb has shopping centres too along the Burwood Road.
As far as the residential locales are concerned, majority houses were built in the form of public housing after World War 2 while in the past 50 years the suburb has been turned to a private dwelling. This suburb saw the opening of an Australia’s Pizza Hut in 1970 and got closed in 1990.
