Bardwell Park is 12 kilometres south to the Sydney CBD. It is bordered by Wolli Creek Valley containing only piece of natural bush land. It is the only natural bush land of any size left within the respective area.
Many amenities have been offered to the residents over here from great bird watching, picnic spots, woodland forest, extended bush lands along with a regional park under development.
Apart from all, it stands as a part of St. George falling under the area of the City of Rockdale. Bardwell Park is named after a free settler Thomas Hill Bardwell. The suburb saw some noticeable developments with the railway station being opened in 1931, the school in 1943 and the Post Office in 1946.
