Encompassing the government area of the City of Willoughby and located 9 kilometres from the Sydney CBD, Artarmon is a hub for railway line developments with residential, commercial and industrial centres.
To motivate the farming skills, land grants were given to the soldiers and emancipists to the west of Artarmon railway station in the years 1794 and 1796. The farm was owned by provost-marshal William Gore (1765-1845). Till then, the suburb has maintained its leafy side.
